Sunil Saggi started his Cricket career in 1978 for U-19 team. At his young age he was determined enough to give swashbuckling performance. He played Ranjhi Trophy for Punjab Team for year 1981-82. Sunil Saggi had such aptitude and talent of a Medium Pace Bowler that he can bowl with enviable thrust. Then he selected for the India U-19 team for the tour of West-Indies.

Saggi embellished his career with many an achievements. He played for Ranjhi Trophy (National Championship of India) for the seven years 1983 to 1990 and also played for P.S.E.B All India Tournament last 1981-1995. Saggi was following the Indian Skipper Kapil Dev´s trial to become "a real fast bowler", as he nuts it.

After the blistrious innings of his cricket career and after bowling some of shocking spells, he decided to start his second innings and then he put his footsteps in Coaching for Punjab.

Then he was appointed as a Coach for Punjab U-16 year 1996-1998.

• He was appointed as a Coach for Punjab U-16 year 1996-1998.
• He attended the Seminar for BCCI as Curator at Madras.
• Championship U-16 team for Year 1996-1997 at Nagpur.
• He was the regular Coach for Punjab team for U-16, U-17, U-22 last 13 years 1996-2016.
• He was qualified Umpire for PCA for last 1996 to 2004.
• Championship U-16 team for year 1997-1998 at Patiala.
• Championship of Rest of India 1997-1998 at Patiala.
• He was manager of champion team U-17 North Zone at Hyderabad 2000-2001.
• Championship U-22 team for Inter-Distt. 2004 / 2009 / 2010 at Patiala.
• Championship for U-22 for Col. C.K. Naydu Trophy 2008-2009 at Calcutta.
• Championship for Kings XI Punjab Tournament at Mohali 2009-2010.

• Championship U-22 for Col. C.K. Naydu Trophy 2011-2012 at Delhi.
• Winner Umesh Kumar Emerging Tournament 2011-2012 at Patiala.
• He cleared Level-I for National Cricket Academy (NCA) in year 2005-2006.
• He cleared Level-II for National Cricket Academy (NCA) at Delhi.
• He was regular Coach for Patiala Distt. For last 17 years.
• He was qualified for Match Refree of PCA for last seven years.
• He was the Coach of Punjab Team 2012-13 Coach Bihar Trophy (Semi-fiinal).
• Winner Dhruv Pandov Cricket Tournament U-19 three times in a row in 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 at Patiala.
• Coach of Punjab U-19 One-day Vinoo Mankad Trophy (Winner) at Ahmedabad 2013-14.
• He was awarded as a best Coach (Dronacharya D.P. Azad Award) in 2013-14 from PCA at Mohali.
• Champion in J.Y Lele All India U-19 Tournament at Baroda in 2014-15.
• Runner's-up in U-19 (Coach-Bihar Trophy Final) 2014-15 at Mohali Vs. Bombay.
