Sunil Saggi started his Cricket career in 1978 for U-19 team. At his young age he was determined enough to give swashbuckling performance. He played Ranjhi Trophy for Punjab Team for year 1981-82. Sunil Saggi had such aptitude and talent of a Medium Pace Bowler that he can bowl with enviable thrust. Then he selected for the India U-19 team for the tour of West-Indies.

Saggi embellished his career with many an achievements. He played for Ranjhi Trophy (National Championship of India) for the seven years 1983 to 1990 and also played for P.S.E.B All India Tournament last 1981-1995. Saggi was following the Indian Skipper Kapil Dev´s trial to become "a real fast bowler", as he nuts it.

After the blistrious innings of his cricket career and after bowling some of shocking spells, he decided to start his second innings and then he put his footsteps in Coaching for Punjab.

Then he was appointed as a Coach for Punjab U-16 year 1996-1998.

  • He was the Coach of Punjab Team 2012-13 Coach Bihar Trophy (Semi-fiinal).
  • Winner Dhruv Pandov Cricket Tournament U-19 three times in a row in 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 at Patiala.
  • Coach of Punjab U-19 One-day Vinoo Mankad Trophy (Winner) at Ahmedabad 2013-14.
  • He was awarded as a best Coach (Dronacharya D.P. Azad Award) in 2013-14 from PCA at Mohali.
